Questions about this tour
3 days or 5 days from Marrakech?
The 3-day tour is the fast version: same dunes, same camp, but direct driving days. The 5-day expedition adds Zagora, the Draa Valley and Tamgroute at a relaxed pace. Pick 3 days if time is short, 5 if the journey matters as much as the dunes.
Where do I sleep on this tour?
Night 1 is a riad in Foum Zguid (Riad Assia), night 2 is the Berber desert camp in Erg Chegaga with a private tent, bed and blankets.
Is Erg Chegaga less touristy than Merzouga?
Yes. Erg Chegaga has no road access; every visitor arrives by 4x4 or camel. There are no hotel blocks behind the dunes, and camps are small and spread out. That is the entire reason we run our tours here.
