Questions about this tour

Why start from Zagora instead of Marrakech?

Zagora sits at the edge of the Draa Valley, half a day closer to the dunes. If you are already in the southeast, this tour gets you a night in Erg Chegaga without backtracking to Marrakech.

Is the camel ride or the 4x4 the main way into the dunes?

The 4x4 covers the off-road distance from M'Hamid to the camp; the camel ride is the sunset and sunrise experience on the high dunes near camp. You get both.

Are Tamgroute stops guaranteed?

They are optional and time-flexible: tell your driver on the day and the stops are built in or skipped as you prefer.

Travelers on the dunes

“Had an incredible experience with DuneTour. Everything was well organized, the responses while booking were quick and all our questions were answered. We had a dust storm, although it didn't prevent us from going for a camel ride to the high dunes. The tents were comfortable and the food was good. What I have to point out were the people. Our guide was incredible, he was so lively and just happy to show us the desert. We were also lucky to see gazelles in the wild. Would definitely recommend.”
