Marrakech to Merzouga 5 days
EXCELLENT Based on 24 reviews Posted on Google H LTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Een heel leuke woenstijnervaring met Mustapha! We zagen wilde struisvogels, ezels en dromedarissen onderweg. We hadden een coole 4x4-rit en een leuke dromedaristocht.Posted on Google Patricia VonkTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mustafa was an excellent driver through the desert!! The trip was magnificent. We had a great lunch, and had a lot of time to make a walk on the sand dunes. Mustafa: thank you for the great day!!Posted on Google Krystal GrahamTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a great time! The only thing is I wished that the bus hadn’t stopped so much due to overheating problems, so there’s was a delay which made the rest of the tour rushed and we almost missed the sunset. We arrived at the camp late so my jeep tour was really short, it didn’t last 1 hour as promised. Apart from those issues which is out of anyone’s control of course, i had a good experience being immersed in the culture, interacting with locals and enjoying the natural scenes.Posted on Google Karine B.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Merci encore Mustapha.Posted on Google Виталия ПосаженниковаTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Posted on Google Ален КоспановTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had an incredible experience with dunetour. Everything was well organized, the responses while booking were quick and all our questions were answered. It was my first experience spending a night in the desert. We had a dust storm, although it didn't prevent us from going for a camel ride to the high dunes. The tents were comfortable and the food was good. What I have to point out were the people. Our guide was incredible, he was so lively and just happy to show us the desert. He really made our experience unforgettable. We were also lucky to see gazelles in the wild. Would definitely recommendPosted on Google Georgii KazhukaloTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Itinerary
Our journey begins in Marrakech, heading toward Dadès Gorges. We cross the Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2,260m), enjoying stunning mountain views. Along the way, we visit the High Atlas Berber village of Telouet and take a guided tour of the Kasbah of El Glaoui, the former War Lord and Pasha of Marrakech. Next, we stop at Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a breathtaking fortified village (ksour). We have lunch in Ait Benhaddou or Ouarzazate before continuing to Dadès Gorges, where we spend the night in a riad or hotel.
After breakfast, we leave Dadès Gorges and head to Merzouga. Along the way, we pass scattered Berber villages and travel through Tinjdad, Jorf, and Erfoud, where the Saharan Oasis of Tafilalt begins. We continue to Merzouga, where we settle in at a hotel near Erg Chebbi. Dinner is served, followed by an evening of Berber music.
In the morning, we explore the dunes of Erg Chebbi. We visit a Berber house and enjoy live Gnawa music, a tradition with roots in Ghana and Sudan. Then, we stop by abandoned mines, meet Berber nomads, and walk through a palm tree oasis. For lunch, we return to Merzouga and relax. Later, we set out on camels for an adventure in the dunes. At the camp, we climb the high dunes to watch the sunset. We spend the night in a nomadic-style camp, enjoying drum music under the stars. This is a perfect chance to capture stunning photos of the sunset and sunrise.
After watching the sunrise, we return to Merzouga. You’ll have time to shower and enjoy a fresh breakfast before we begin our journey back to Ouarzazate. Along the way, we stop at Berber shops where you can find unique souvenirs like fossils, carpets, lamps, and leather goods. We arrive in Ouarzazate in the afternoon and spend the night in a comfortable hotel.
We leave Ouarzazate in the morning and head to Ait Benhaddou. You’ll have time to explore this UNESCO World Heritage site and enjoy lunch. This 11th-century kasbah has been a backdrop for over 20 films, including Gladiator. After lunch, we drive back to Marrakech, crossing the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. We arrive in the evening.
